07:43
Hi team Ovee and friends

07:50
We are recording!

07:55
Hello, all!

08:01
As Rachel mentioned, we'll be recording this workshop. If you prefer not to be recorded, you can privately chat me and we can comment/ask your question for you. After the workshop, you'll receive the link to this workshop. You'll be able to watch this at your own pace!

08:04
Hello everyone!

08:18
Always feel free to reach out to our team. Our emails are listed below:- RACHEL LAWRENCE, OVEE Manager rachel.lawrence@itvs.org- MYAH OVERSTREET, OVEE Coordinator myah.overstreet@itvs.org

08:25
We will be capturing your questions here so fire away when they arise!

08:39
We will address questions during the Q&A portion

09:12
The chat sometimes defaults to messaging just the host or a single person. When you have a question, please be sure to set the chat to 'All Panelist and Attendees.'

09:22
Is anyone brave enough to volunteer as our talent later on the workshop? Let us know!

10:09
We will be capturing your questions here so fire away when they arise!

10:16
We will address questions during the Q&A portion

10:24
Loving these pics!

10:33
Is that Rachel?

10:34
Has anyone here ever been in a control room? I haven't!

10:47
Yes! What a change

10:54
That looks like my "control room" too! :)

11:00
Both old and new! My control room is in my bedroom! ;)

11:03
This seems like a good time to share our OVEE Production Breakdown. Rachel put it together to give you all a sense of how many people and how much time it takes to produce different types of events: http://bit.ly/OVEE-Production-Breakdown

11:11
Two computers is the way to go!

11:35
We're hosting a Q&A later in the workshop. Please chat any questions that may come up, and we will save them for for later :)

11:41
Can’t wait to hear more about shortening up the delay

11:45
Yes Dave or even just two screens is helpful too!

11:51
Better to use zoom webinar or is a regular zoom mtg ok for livestream?

12:20
This document from the Help Center provides A LOT of good detail about streaming from Vimeo: http://bit.ly/OVEE-Video-Content

12:24
What if you don’t have 2 computers available?

12:41
Does it have to be a zoom “webinar"

12:52
Great question Anne! We recommend using Zoom Webinar

14:01
If you don’t have two computers, you can still livestream!

14:24
Over used to support (or it still may) Livestream live streams. Livestream got bought out by Vimeo and you can no longer buy livestream subscriptions. Is OVEE going to support Vimeo live streams?

15:15
Jordan, that’s a great question! I’ll keep note of it and we’ll circle back during our live Q&A!

15:22
The Help Center is a great resource: https://bit.ly/OVEE-Help-Center. A bit of a pro tip, but use "Control+F" to find what you are looking for.

16:27
Rachel is providing us with a deep dive into the delay (which is the hard part!). Here's a step-by-step video to walk you through connecting Zoom and OVEE: http://bit.ly/OVEE-Zoom

16:46
Rachel also created a whole document to walk you through the delay: http://bit.ly/Livestream-Delay

18:45
Any questions? Keep ‘em coming!

20:09
3..2…1...GO!!

20:13
That's exactly what our team does as well, countdown in the chat for our guests.

20:57
Here's another pro-tip: When filling out the moderater on OVEE, you don't include the moderator's OVEE—you include yours or whoever is launching the event.

22:11
Will the Zoom chat CUE show up on the YouTube screen and thus in live stream on OVEE?

22:20
Join us here! https://ovee.itvs.org/screenings/sk0if

23:09
Great question Kerry! The chat Is not visible on OVEE.

24:22
Iowa PBS has always used Zoom Meeting for our discussions on OVEE but I see you suggest Zoom Webinar. Can you share why webinar is better?

25:00
GO!

25:53
Great job Myah!

26:10
Thanks everyone!!

26:15
Anyone else ready to volunteer?

26:24
sure

27:07
Thanks Greg!

27:21
Let’s give Greg a round of applause!

27:28
Greg tell us what you had for breakfast!

27:33
Go Greg!

27:42
GO!

27:52
Nice!!

28:13
You can do it Gregg!

28:35
Woohoo! Great work Greg!

28:38
Whooo!

28:39
Yay Greg!

28:42
Yay Gregg!

28:42
go Greg!

28:46
great job!!

29:01
Good job Greg!

29:14
Caryline, I captured your question and Rachel will address during the Q&A

29:57
Who’s ready to level up?

30:56
Do you still have delay issue if you do not use zoom?

31:39
I use both OBS and Streamyard

31:53
What’s the best way to deal with the OTHER delay— when people are flapping lips and audio comes in a second later?

32:02
Feel free to contact me if you need help. burnscj@matc.edu

32:03
Great questions everyone!

32:23
I’d really like to go back over the delay and cue

32:31
Can you review how to determine the Pause Point again please?

32:39
How to do this with 1 computer

33:08
Iowa PBS has always used Zoom Meeting for our discussions on OVEE but I see you suggest Zoom Webinar. Can you share why webinar is better?

33:10
Can the delay vary due to internet speed?

33:34
Is there anyway to add more than one logo for co-branding

34:04
Stick with webinar - relieves lots of headaches

34:10
Just my opinion

34:48
Awesome! We have no problems with meeting to YouTube live but maybe it's something we should explore. We've held maybe 10 screenings/discussions already on OVEE and LOVE the platform!

34:56
Important hint - do a dress rehearsal at time of day your event is scheduled

35:03
TOD internet and lighting can change

35:36
Instead of two computers can the same productivity come from 2 monitors?

36:15
Ethernet connectivity helps with speed.

36:52
yes!

38:40
Definitely, thank you.

39:28
So if panelist are only on zoom and not in ovee. The panelist won’t we able to see the attendee chat. How do you accommodate for that?

39:41
You can’t buy Livestream accounts though

40:41
Greg - we have another staff member monitor the OVEE chat and feed questions back to a host through shared google document

41:19
The bitly to the Livestream delay document actually went to the day of timeline. Can you share the document that goes through determining delay

41:21
?

41:24
Google! We use google chat on a separate screen or iPad.

41:31
We have someone monitor the OVEE chat and post anything that needs to come over to the guests into the Zoom chat.

42:00
We have lots of time for more questions!

42:18
And please post all of your tips and tricks!

42:50
We basically use google and have one moderator ask the panel - that way it can be better directed.

42:52
What is the problem with panelist having both open in your Q&A producer can do that? Is it bandwidth?

42:57
There is a delay in questions to the host

43:08
Do you interface Streamyard into Zoom for the livestream OR are you using Streamyard to create templates with lower thirds ?

43:56
Elisa, from Rhode Island PBS again. I would recommend not getting super concerned about the delay. Once you get into the Live portion of the event attendees will not remember there was a delay.

44:17
We will get the appropriate link for the Livestream Delay document. Hang tight!

44:23
Too easy!

44:35
Questions: -how much time before Q&A begins should panelist show up?-should you start Q&A immediately after film starts credits? If not how soon after credits roll should you pause playback and start Q&A?-is it better to have a break for people to get a snack before Q&A starts?

45:33
Yes. Why can’t a panelist have zoom and ovee opened so they can see the live chat

46:25
Can’t you just mute ovee?

46:29
Also - BIG HINT - attend every OVEE meeting you can attend - it refreshes your brain and gives you more hints from other users! This is my fourth training event. They also hold one every Friday for demo of OVEE.

46:51
Sorry to come back to Delay again — when testing to determine the delay, this must be in a test OVEE event. Is this test happening typically in the hour before the live event?

46:59
Thanks Carole!! You can also RSVP for our weekly OVEE demo here: http://bit.ly/OVEEdemo

47:12
We've been sharing the OVEE screen with panelists through Zoom screen share so they can still see the video and do not have to open or login to OVEE

47:19
Kent - I recommend you start Q&A immediately

47:23
What is the dimension for the logo upload on the partner bar? Is there a limit?

47:28
my delay is about 25 seconds!

47:32
At WCTE, so we can control what is being shared through zoom and prevent an audio loop

48:11
Having someone connected to do questions also helps moderate the chat - sometimes not so nice comments come out….

48:53
that way your panelist can focus on the answers and each other instead of questions that may or may not be part of their area of expertise

49:22
It’s often because of the panelist members bandwidth

49:39
Have your guests wired in whenever possible

50:02
Do you think we should run the entire credits of the film before going live to panel or would you suggest we go live directly after the film.

50:02
Carole is right. Your panelist’s bandwidth is important.

51:32
Panelists can also sign in early and come back to their set-ups when it’s time to go.

52:47
Zoom webinar allows for a rehearsal option, not sure if that is an option in Zoom meetings?

52:53
Great tips!

54:52
The rehearsal option is a nice option because you can connect to all panelists without going LIVE.

56:04
Thank you

56:48
I LOVE OBS

56:54
I use it every week

56:55
This has been very helpful

57:54
This was fantastic! I have to jump to another Zoom meeting to discuss an OVEE we are planning for February. Thank you so much for this information. See you on OVEE ;)

58:10
Our group views a movie independently (different days) of the movie discussion/analysis. In that situation, how would we use OVEE?

59:48
HEre

59:50
Is the only issue the delay presents. is If you don’t do must people keep the chat active during the playing of the film

59:58
Here’s a sample run of show! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16VTaUH5rJDi4uT0F5rxnrvGg7Avm_hSwMlYGbjjhCoc/edit#gid=1166473822

01:00:08
Thanks Kristy!

01:00:09
Thanks Kristy!

01:01:07
Hi Bill - To my knowledge, If you are going to screen an indie Lens film in the pre-broadcast window, the only way to show the film is to use OVEE and screen it at a specific time/day. After the film has been broadcast the film will be available to viewers on PBS so they could watch on their own. And they they would join your zoom mtg via a separate link at a time that you specify.

01:01:10
Partner Logo dimensions are 100kb

01:01:18
And we recommend banners!

01:01:19
It actually doesn’t say. I did a screenshot of the header bar and am working with that 692x59

01:01:27
Sorry this was supposed be one question — do must people keep the chat active during the playing of the film

01:01:59
niceeee

01:03:20
Thanks y’all!

01:04:32
What’s the best way to handle people who need Closed Captioning, or Spanish subtitles?

01:04:45
This has been really helpful and great reminders since I haven't used OVEE for a while. Thanks Rachel and Myah.

01:05:00
I must jump off for another meeting but I’m looking forward to getting a recording of this webinar. Thanks!

01:05:04
Audience turns on their own captions at the lower right of their screen.

01:05:17
Thanks for joining us Lori!

01:11:10
OVEE Support email: ovee.support@itvs.org

01:11:55
At WKAR, we’ve added a mailto link in the Welcome message and we monitor that email address during our event in case folks have trouble during the event

01:11:56
shout out to the OVEE support team! Amazingly helpful!

01:12:24
Thanks to the OVEE team for showing up to my screenings to answer questions from the audience!

01:12:55
And Kristy and IL Pop-Up too, the ROS is wonderful and has tech tips included

01:13:07
Can you review how to determine the Pause point again?

01:14:06
Yes, Julie! we have a “Frequently Chatted Responses” tab to make it easy to copy/paste responses too

01:14:31
Thanks for sharing Bill!

01:20:44
Have to leave looking forward to the recording - thanks all.

01:21:01
I always start my screenings about half an hour early. Always some audience member turn up really early! I have figured out how to add music to a hold slide while sharing my screen in ZOOM and adding the live stream before the start of the event.
